Move your account to Bank of Ireland and you'll soon be enjoying the benefits - it's a lot easier and quicker than you might imagine.
Because most of our customers transfer from other banks, our customer service teams are very familiar with the process of ensuring that accounts transfer smoothly.
If you would like to transfer your current account to us from another financial institution, we will manage the account transfer process on your behalf to minimise any inconvenience to you.
Once we receive your completed transfer documentation, our team will:
- Contact your existing bank for details of electronic payments and receipts within three working days of receiving your instruction. Your 'old' bank should return this information to us within five working days of receiving our request.
- Confirm with you the payments and receipts to be transferred.
- Write to each company with your new account details. We will do this as soon as we receive details of payments from your 'old' bank.
- Instruct your 'old' bank to close your account and inform you when the transfer is complete. This will include the transfer of any balance remaining in your 'old' account.
We'll also refund any charges levied by your existing bank as a result of the transfer.
Whilst awaiting your payment details, we will open your new current account and undertake to provide you with all the services you need to operate the account within ten days of approving your application.
